The Ocean City Development Corporation asked me to look at the Ocean City Rt. 50 Bridge Tender building. It is a wonderful 1940’s era concrete building sitting at the draw span of the bridge. Over the years it has become cluttered with miscellaneous utility items that have masked the simple beauty of the original design. My solution was to remove all of the accumulation, and relocate whatever was needed to a new mast. Additionally, an HVAC compressor that was added on top of the building would get enclosed with aluminum louvers shaped to mimic the architectural language of the building.
