This project is a renovation of an existing office building into a public library. The challenge was design a renovation that had both a civic presence and a residential scale. The project is designed to be as sustainable as possible, including reusing existing materials, harvesting rainwater on site and treating it in a demonstration rain garden, and insulating with blown-in cellulose (literally warming the Library with old books and newspapers).
